Isaac Ahn

Welcome to my Leadership Links Fundraising Page!

My name is Isaac Ahn, and I am a junior in high school from Rochester, MN! I have been playing golf since I was 5 years old, and I have been competing since I was 9. When I first got into the game, my parents saw that I really enjoyed swinging a club, so they signed me up for the local First Tee program. My joy in learning and playing with other kids, as well as the amazing volunteers and staff, grew my interest in the sport ineffably. My time at The First Tee set me up for an incomparable junior career in golf, that has equipped me with a plethora of life lessons that have guided me in my decision-making on and off the course.

Golf teaches people how to think under pressure, how to react to misfortune, how to embrace the present moment, and more importantly, how to interact positively with other people. I want every child to have the opportunity to be able to learn what I did through The First Tee. This passion is why I have chosen to help raise funds for The First Tee - Minnesota.

My goal is to raise $10,000 for The First Tee - Minnesota, and the American Junior Golf Association Ace Grant, which provides financial assistance to young men and women who aspire to play college golf. Descriptions of both The First Tee - Minnesota and the AJGA are below.

Please consider making a donation to help fund the work of these incredible organizations. When you click the DONATE button, you can make a one-time donation, or pledge to contribute for every birdie I make in tournaments this year! (I made a little over 100 last year). First Tee – Minnesota:
First Tee -- Minnesota is a statewide youth development nonprofit that turns the golf course into a classroom for learning lifelong skills.

First Tee curriculum uses fun and engaging activities not only to teach the fundamentals of golf, but also to teach other key skills—resilience, concentration, goal setting, and perseverance—and connect those skills to success in academics, careers, and personal relationships.

First Tee programs take place at over 20 public golf courses in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Three Rivers Park District, Rochester, and Woodbury; and in over 50 schools and in 20 communities centers. In addition, First Tee offers a variety of free clinics throughout the year and works with a variety of youth organizations like Boys and Girls Clubs, Urban Ventures, and YMCAs to introduce as many kids as possible to the game. Through these programs, First Tee reached over 6,500 children in the state of Minnesota last year.

First Tee works to ensure children of all cultures, backgrounds, and abilities can explore and enjoy the game of golf. Donations fuel our community outreach, and provide critical resources for scholarships and equipment, and also coach training.

AJGA:
The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
