The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration

Hudson Lindsey

A few months ago, I was excited to learn that I had been chosen as a recipient of the Liberty National ACE Grant which helps young men and women wishing to play collegiate golf with some of their expenses. This grant also encourages each of the recipients to dedicate themselves to charitable causes that matter deeply to them through a fundraising effort called Leadership Links.

Leadership Links is a fundraising program which is split equally in helping golfers like myself be able to attain their educational and athletic goals, while also supporting the charity of my choice. The charity which I have chosen is The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. Just over a year and a half ago my grandma Gail lost a long battle with FTD. This terrible disease took her ability to eat, talk and thrive as she became a prisoner in her own body. FTD is a caused by a genetic mutation that is hereditary.

I have chosen to make The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration my charitable cause because I would like to honor the memory of my grandmother, while supporting efforts to eradicate this terrible disease. It is my hope that this money will help researchers continue to make strides in finding a cure and making sure that FTD is not the inheritance that families like mine pass down to future generations. Please consider supporting my efforts in memory of my Grandma Gail. Thank you for your generosity.
