Putts for Parkinson’s
Matthew Miyamoto
Matthew Miyamoto
Golf is a game that exemplifies the spirit of giving and I am so blessed to be a part of this most wonderful game. My hope is to use this game of golf that I so love to raise money for the Parkinson's Foundation.
My name is Matthew Miyamoto and I am in the class of 2024 at Jesuit High School in Sacramento, California. I am a student athlete who loves to play golf, spend time with family and friends, and make my community better. I've created Putts for Parkinson's to raise money for the Parkinson's Foundation throughout my junior golf career. My goal is to raise as much money as possible to help the Parkinson's Foundation. The Parkinson's Foundation is committed to improving the lives of those who have Parkinson's and finding a cure.
50% of every contribution will also go to the ACE Grant program. The ACE program supports talented junior golfers with a desire to better their lives through playing junior golf and earning a college golf scholarship. These juniors lack the financial resources to compete at the national level.
My family's connection to Parkinson's runs through my grandma Sybil (Bo) Miyamoto. She has been living with Parkinson's for over 21 years. My grandma's strong, caring and loving characteristics have inspired me to try and make a difference for those who have been affected by Parkinson's.
My goal is to raise $5,000 to give to the Parkinson's Foundation and the ACE Grant program. I would very much appreciate any support you can give.
I will be keeping everyone updating throughout this year with pictures and videos. I am hoping to play 5 competitive AJGA tournaments this season and represent the Putts for Parkinson's program well. You can make contributions up until the end of December, 2023.
If you know of anybody who has been affected by Parkinson's please encourage them to look at the resources on the Parkinson's Foundation website: parkinson.org
Thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely, Matthew Miyamoto
The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are 100% tax-deductible. Thank you for any support you can lend!
