MY MISSION
Golf has taught me the value of focus, patience, and resilience. While I have been fortunate to grow in this sport with my parents' support, playing in the Lansdowne Cup last year changed my perspective. It was there I first encountered Leashes of Valor (leashesofvalor.org).
The mission of providing service dogs to restore independence to our veterans is something I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. I realized that the confidence and peace I find on the golf course are things many veterans must fight to regain and a service dog is often the bridge back to that life.
WHY THIS MATTERS TO ME
This cause is personal. My grandfather was a Canadian paratrooper who taught himself to play golf. Despite the challenges of his service, the game became his way to find peace and stay connected to his family.
Today, I am also mentored by two caddies who are veterans dedicated their careers to serving our country. They have taught me that strength is found in how you respond to difficulty, not just how you perform. My grandfather and my caddies served so that I could have the opportunity to stand on that first tee.
I am proud to be the ambassador for Leashes of Valor and playing this season to ensure they and all veterans never have to walk alone.
THE AJGA LEADERSHIP LINKS PROGRAM
I am excited to be a part of the AJGA's Leadership Links program. Through this program, your donation makes a dual impact:
1. 50% TO LEASHES OF VALOR: Funding the training & placement of service dogs for post 9/11 veterans.
2. 50% TO THE AJGA LIBERTY NATIONAL ACE GRANT: Providing financial assistance to talented junior golfers who would otherwise lack the resources to compete.
