The California Cup is a team fundraising event founded in 2024 through a partnership between Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club and junior golfers Brady Neal, Oliver Mayson, Greyson Graham, Ronnie Banerjee, Jaden Soong, Aiden Dinani, and the American Junior Golf Association. The Ryder Cup-style event will raise money for the Liberty National ACE Grant 

The Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant provides financial assistance to young men and women who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship through competitive junior golf. 

The Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is nestled in the center of the historic and prestigious community of Rancho Santa Fe, the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club was designed by famed golf course architect Max Behr in 1929. Mr. Behr molded the natural contours and beauty of the terrain into its original layout, a 6,700 – yard, par-72 golf course which opened June 5, 1929. Entertainer Bing Crosby began hosting the pro-am “Clambake” in 1937. The golf event paired celebrities and businessmen with professionals for a 36–hole weekend event which was the origin of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
 
Over the years the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club has hosted numerous U.S.G.A. events and qualifiers including the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in 2006. Premier golf course architect David McLay Kidd led the golf course through a renovation which was completed in 2022. The par-72 course currently plays at 7035 yards and has been consistently recognized as one of the finest walking courses in America. In 2022-2023, the U.S.G.A. held both a U.S. Amateur qualifier and a U.S. Women's Amateur qualifier at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club and in both instances the winning score was the highest of all qualifying sites in the country. The golf course is virtually always in perfect condition and the greens are extremely fast which explains why multiple local tour pros, including Phil Mickelson and Charley Hoffman, have made it their home course.
