About the Texas Cup
The Texas Cup is a proud member of the AJGA Cobra PUMA Golf® State Cup Series. Founded in 2020 by AJGA alumni and Austin Country Club junior golfers Sean-Karl Dobson and Sadie Englemann, the event was created to combine elite competition with charitable giving, leadership, and service to the game of golf.
Although the inaugural Texas Cup was scheduled for 2020, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and played for the first time in 2021 at the Austin Country Club. Sean-Karl Dobson and Ally Black hosted the 2021 and 2022 Texas Cup events, setting records for fundraising by a state cup series event in consecutive years. In 2023, Blake Burt chaired the Texas Cup. That year, Blake was nationally recognized by the American Junior Golf Association with the Jerry Cole Sportsmanship Award. Jack and Henry Talarico chaired the 2024 event and are joined by Ava Osborne to lead the 2025 Texas Cup.
To date, the Texas Cup has raised approximately $500,000 built a strong alumni network of junior golfers—many of whom have gone on to collegiate and professional careers. Proceeds from the Texas Cup will benefit the Liberty National ACE Grant and the Divots Foundation.

About the Liberty National ACE Grant
The Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant provides financial assistance to young men and women who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship through competitive junior golf.
About the Divots Foundation
The Divots Foundation provides financial assistance to participants and organizations engaged in junior golf activities in Texas. We partner with and provide financial support to Texas junior golf associations, invest in community engagement and educational opportunities for junior golfers and their families, and provide merit-based scholarships and financial aid.
