Hi, Cohen here! I am excited to announce that I will be participating in the first-ever Kansas Junior Cup. I've been playing golf since I was eight years old and my goal is to eventually get a scholarship to play Division 1 college golf. This tournament is such an awesome opportunity to play against some of the best juniors in the region and I can't wait! Let's gooooo! This event will raise money for three different charities...
1. The Liberty National ACE Grant Program, which supports junior golfers and helps provide opportunities for young athletes to excel in the game of golf.
2. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wichita, which mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
3. The Kansas Golf Foundation, which exists to invest in young players, recognize the game’s greats, and make golf more accessible for all.
As you may know, I was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was twenty months old. I spent much of the first seven months in and out of the hospital. The Ronald McDonald room at the hospital offered my parents a chance to get out of the hospital room and just spend some time chatting with other parents who were also going through difficult situations with sick children. They also had a TV, snacks, and washer and dryer in that room. My mom said that was the first time in her life that she looked forward to doing laundry!
The Kansas Junior Cup is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I am so grateful to be part of this event. Not only will I be competing, but I’ll also be helping raise funds to give more young golfers the chance to develop their skills and achieve their dreams.
My goal is to raise $1,500 and all of this money will be donated to these charities. Thank you for any support you can provide!
To contribute via check, please make out to "AJGA - Kansas Junior Cup" and send to:
American Junior Golf Association
1980 Sports Club Drive
Braselton, GA 30517
(Please also include my name in the memo line)
Thank you for the encouragement and support you have provided me in my golf journey!
