Raising money for the Junior Chicago Cup
Owen Spokas
Owen Spokas
My name is Owen Spokas and I am extremely excited and grateful to play in the fifth annual Junior Chicago Cup!
I am a 17 year old junior golfer from Arlington Heights, Illinois. Since the first day I touched a golf club at 7 years old, I have been fortunate enough to play over 125+ courses in dozens of U.S. states! This summer I am volunteering in a variety of golf-based activities: I will be coaching for the Chicago School of golf over the summer, participating in the Sunshine through Golf program at Old Orchard CC (an awesome activity designed to give people with disabilities a route to showcase their on-course talent), and hopefully volunteering for First Tee Chicago (a non-profit focused on improving children's life skills through golf)!
The Junior Chicago Cup is a unique junior golf event that provides competitive junior golfers, like myself, an opportunity for development in important life skills such as charitable giving, leadership, and teamwork. Participants gain a greater understanding and knowledge of the benefiting charities while being celebrated for their accomplishments.
This year’s Junior Chicago Cup will be hosted at Edgewood Valley Country Club in La Grange, IL on July 22nd and 23rd. Any and all are welcome!
We are excited to support a number of great charities through this event; here is a little more about each one that you may generously contribute to:
——AJGA’s ACE Grant Program——
The ACE Grant program is dedicated to helping junior golfers with the ability to play golf at the national level, but lack the financial resources to do so. Through the AJGA ACE Grant program, golf is becoming more accessible throughout the U.S. for youth!
——Helping Hand——
Helping Hand is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They offer a wide range of person-centered programs and services, including educational programs, pediatric therapies, employment services, residential housing, and specialized programs for seniors with disabilities.
You can click on DONATE to make a one-time donation via credit card. You may also write a check- please make checks payable to the AJGA and mail to AJGA –

Sincerely,
Owen
