Fundraiser for the Alabama Cup
Reese Powell
Reese Powell
I’m excited to share that I’ll be participating in the 8th annual Alabama Cup! This event brings together junior golfers for a Ryder Cup-style competition while raising money for the AJGA’s Liberty National ACE Grant Program and a local Alabama charity.
I’m especially excited to be part of the Alabama Cup because it gives me the opportunity to use a sport I love to give back to my community and help other young golfers. Each participant is challenged to raise money for charity, and after our fundraising efforts are complete, we get to come together and compete in a Ryder Cup-style event.
The Alabama Cup was started in 2018 by Gordon Sargent (Vanderbilt University) and Reynolds Lambert (Furman University) and was originally hosted at Shoal Creek Golf Club. Even though the venues and charities have changed over the years, the mission has stayed the same: using golf as a way to give back and celebrating the fundraising efforts of junior golfers. My friend Courtney Grace is hosting this year's event at Greystone Country Club.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Highlands College and the AJGA’s Liberty National ACE Grant Program. Highlands College is a Birmingham-based nonprofit that provides biblical education, practical ministry training, and leadership development to equip students to serve and lead in their churches and communities. Since 2003, the AJGA’s Liberty National ACE Grant Program has provided financial assistance to talented junior golfers who need support to compete in national junior golf tournaments and pursue college golf opportunities.
My personal goal is to raise $1,500, and I would be so grateful for any support you’re willing to give!
You can contribute directly on this page.
Or, to contribute by check; please make checks payable to “AJGA – Alabama Cup” and mail to:

Thank you so much for supporting me!
