About the Alabama Cup

The Alabama Cup was started in 2018 by Gordon Sargent (Vanderbilt University) and Reynolds Lambert (Furman University) and hosted by Shoal Creek Golf Club to benefit Children's Harbor, the American Cancer Society, and the AJGA's Liberty National ACE Grant Program. While the hosts, venues, and charities have changed over the years, the mission and purpose to make a charitable contribution while celebrating the successful fundraising of the juniors have never wavered. In 2023 the event was run by the Emblem Family along with the Norwood family.

Juniors Ellis Norwood and Ryan Pugh and their family are excited to take on the leadership of the Alabama Cup.

Proceeds this year will support United Ability and the AJGA's Liberty National ACE Grant Program. The Mission of United Ability is to provide innovative services to connect people with disabilities to their communities and empower individuals to live full and meaningful lives.

Since 2003, the AJGA's Liberty National ACE Grant program has funded the dreams of talented junior golfers who needed financial assistance to compete in national junior golf tournaments to earn college golf scholarships.
