I am excited to announce that I will be hosting the first ever King Cup at Fairview Country Club on Thursday, July 20. This event will raise money for two causes that are very important to me - Filling in the Blanks and the Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence ("ACE") Grant.
Filling in the Blanks fights childhood hunger by providing children in need with meals on the weekends. FITB has delivered over 2 million weekend meals to children in low income households in Fairfield and Westchester counties. I have had a great time helping pack these meals in the warehouse with other volunteers over the last year and encourage anyone who has the time to come and volunteer to pack during a shift.
The Liberty National ACE Grant provides financial assistance to young men and women who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship through competitive junior golf. The Liberty National ACE Grant covers expenses incurred while attending American Junior Golf Association ("AJGA") events, as well as select USGA junior events and State Championships.
As you likely know, I am passionate about golf and food and am thankful I have abundant access to both. It is important to me to recognize that many lack such access and therefore I can not think of better organizations to support through this event which I am honored to host in connection with the AJGA.
As the "host", my goal is to personally raise at least $15,000. I hope the event raises much more than that in total as other high level junior golfers will be competing and each will be raising money for these two causes.
Thank you for any support you can provide. I greatly appreciate it.
